Coach Chris Hughton praises Fatawu Hamidu and Jonathan Sowah after Ghana’s win over Liberia

The head coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton has heaped praise on the local players who featured for Ghana in the encounter against Liberia on Tuesday, September 12.

Ghana hosted the Lone Stars today at the Accra Sports Stadium today in an international friendly match.

In the game, Black Stars coach Chris Hughton handed a starting role to Medeama SC defender Fatawu Hamidu.

He also introduced Medeama SC striker Jonathan Sowah in the second half to reinforce the attack of the Black Stars.

Speaking after Ghana secured a 3-1 win at the end of the 90 minutes, Coach Chris Hughton said he was impressed with the performance of the two players.

“I’m really impressed by the performance of Fatawu Hamidu and Jonathan Sowah. Especially Sowah, he lifted the team when he came on,” the Black Stars head coach said.

After today, the Black Stars technical team is expected to give more opportunities to local players.

Up next for Ghana, the national team will next month take on Mexico and the USA in two separate international friendly games.
