In a significant stride towards officiating excellence, Ghanaian referees Daniel Laryea and Kwasi Acheampong Brobbey have been selected to partake in the prestigious AFCON Preparation Course.
Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire will host the AFCON Preparation Course.
From October 11 to October 16, 2023, the two match officials will be enrolled in the training in order to be prepared for the 2023 AFCON, which will be held in Cote d’Ivoire.
The match officials will go through technical, theoretical, and physical examinations as part of the training.
The AFCON will be hosted by Ivory Coast for the second time, having first hosted it in 1984.
CAF postponed this edition to 13 January – 11 February 2024 because of weather concerns in Ivory Coast on 3 July 2022, but keeping the name 2023 Africa Cup of Nations for sponsorship purposes. This also meant that, for the first time in AFCON history, the event had to be shifted twice following the previous edition.
