Ghana coach, Chris Hughton, says he is not in charge as to where the Black Stars will play the games.
His comments come after the Accra Sports Stadium was described as terrible in the team’s friendly game against Liberia.
Ghana recorded a 3-1 win over the Lone Stars with Mohammed Kudus, Ernest Nuamah and Jordan Ayew scoring the goals to keep Chris Hughton’s fine start intact.
However, the post-game narrative was dominated by the horrible playing surface at the Accra Sports Stadium after a heavy downpour a few hours before the friendly.
Speaking to the media after the game, Hughton touched on a slew of issues but was reserved with his answer on the subject of the poor pitch.
“I would have to say first and foremost that the decision to where the games are played are of course decisions by the Football Association,” he said.
“What we can do is speak about today, the crowd were excellent today and I think they grew with us as the game got better and as the performance got better, the crowd got louder and I think probably the fact we hadn’t played here for a while probably had something to do with it and its good to be back here but as regards (to) where the games are played, that’s not my decision,” he added.
The Black Stars have played their games at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi in recent times.
