Despite an injury scare during a recent Ghana match, Medeama coach Evans Adotey has assured that defender Hamidu Fatawu is likely to be fit for Sunday’s CAF Champions League match against Horoya AC.
Fatawu, who showcased a commendable performance in his debut for the Ghanaian national team, seemed to have suffered a hamstring issue towards the end of a friendly match against Liberia.
Adotey reassured fans about Fatawu’s fitness, stating, “Yes, Fatawu is fit to play. On Thursday, we rested him. We had a game against Ebusua Dwarfs at the Robert Mensah Stadium, so we rested him.
“Today he is training, so by the close of today, the medical team will give us the go-ahead that Fatawu is ready to play.”
Medeama is gearing up to welcome Guinean powerhouse Horoya AC for the first leg of the final eliminator in the CAF Champions League.
Fatawu’s availability will be a valuable asset as they strive for a favorable result leading into the second leg.
Anticipated to be a formidable encounter, Horoya AC will draw on their extensive experience in the competition. In contrast, Medeama, reigning champions of the Ghana Premier League, are poised to carve out a historic milestone by advancing to the group stage for the first time.
