The manager of West Ham United, David Moyes has opened up on why the club decided to sign Ghana star Mohammed Kudus.
The Hammers beat Brighton & Hove Albion this summer to secure the services of the talented Black Stars player.
Speaking in a pre-match press conference ahead of the English Premier League match against Manchester City, manager David Moyes said West Ham signed Mohammed Kudus because of the desire to play an expansive style of football.
“I do want to be more expansive, and that’s why we signed Lucas Paqueta last season and Mohammed Kudus this summer. It’s not easy to change everything. We’ve tried different elements of our game, and it hasn’t always worked,” the manager said.
David Moyes added, “Last season, we didn’t score enough goals, and we want to improve on that, but still ensuring we are hard to beat. That might not be what everyone wants to watch or hear, but ultimately the way we’ve played is part of the reason we’ve won a European trophy and are back in Europe.”
Mohammed Kudus, 23, after scoring two goals for Ghana in the international break is in line to feature for West Ham United in the clash against Manchester City on Saturday, September 16.
