The Philadelphia 76ers are expected to remain busy this summer as they look to build a roster that is capable of challenging for the NBA Championship moving forward.

In Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, they have a spectacularly talented core. Now, it is about putting the right players around them.

The 76ers have been linked with some of the best players around the league in recent weeks, with the expectation being that they will add a superstar to their roster this offseason.

Paul George is believed to be their top target. There have been some rumors about a possible move for LeBron James as well. There has also been talk about a potential reunion with Jimmy Butler, with his future in Miami shrouded in uncertainty.

Signing players of that level is never easy though and so, the 76ers must have alternative plans in place.

Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report has suggested that Dejounte Murray would be a nice consolation prize for the 76ers if they miss out on players like LeBron, George and Butler this summer.

Murray’s possible fit alongside Maxey could make any move even more attractive for the 76ers. Swartz wrote in his article ‘Surprise Landing Spots for NBA’s Most Rumored Trade Targets’: “Think of Murray as a bigger, better version of De’Anthony Melton, a two-way guard who played well off of Tyrese Maxey. The Sixers had a net rating of plus-12.1 when Melton shared the court with Maxey, a number that fell all the way plus-1.9 when Melton was off the floor, per Cleaning the Glass.
