The Jacksonville Jaguars didn’t wait until Halloween to get spooky.
An interception and ghost pass interference call set up a touchdown for the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at EverBank Stadium.
After rookie defensive back Jarrian Jones secured his first career pick to get Jacksonville the ball, the team failed to take advantage of the extra possession.
Two plays into the drive, Trevor Lawrence was picked off by Xavier McKinney, who snagged his NFL-leading sixth interception of the season.
Then Buster Brown was called for a pass interference penalty that gave Green Bay short field position for a Josh Jacobs touchdown.
It was a series un unfortunate events that led to the Jaguars trailing in the first half. The Packers added on a field goal after their next possession and lead 10-0 with 6 minutes remaining in the half.
The Jaguars finally sustained a drive late in the first half, capping it with a Lawrence TD run to get on the scoreboard.
But the mistakes bit the Jaguars early in the fourth quarter, too. On a third down deep in their own territory, Trevor Lawrence was sacked by Edgerrin Cooper, who also forced a fumble, which was recovered by Devonte Wyatt at the Jacksonville 5-yard line. Two plays later, Tucker Kraft’s 3-yard TD catch gave the Packers a 10-point lead.
