Real Madrid is interested in securing a Chelsea transfer. To do so, they may need to sacrifice a first-team midfielder.
Real Madrid is not having the best time this season. Moreover, their problems have mostly occurred within the last week. Of course, they were humiliated on home soil in El Clasico, then there came the whole Ballon d’Or drama.
Real Madrid fans need no reminding of the antics over the last week, though. Instead, they would like to look forward at potential fixes to their looming problems. One way to fix them is by scouring the transfer market.
Indeed, Real Madrid has become interested in signing a Chelsea midfielder. However, it might come at the expense of one of their own.
Real Madrid could sell midfielder to fund Chelsea transfer
According to a report from Fichajes, Real Madrid would like to sign Enzo Fernandez to fulfil the dream of Florentino Pérez. However, to sign the Argentine from Chelsea, they will need to sacrifice a midfielder of their own, most likely Aurelien Tchouameni.
Despite frequenting the first-team, there are still question marks surrounding Aurelien Tchouameni. Most notably, it is up in the air as to whether he’s the right player to represent a club the size of Real Madrid.
Aurelien Tchouameni is a great, dynamic player. However, compared to his current teammates and of course, Toni Kroos who he is tasked with replacing, Tchouameni just falls shy of expectations.
Therefore, Real Madrid would like to sign Enzo Fernandez to replace Toni Kroos in the midfield. Fichajes label him as a “long-time dream of Florentino Pérez and an ideal profile to replace Kroos.”
This is not the first time Real Madrid has been linked to Enzo Fernandez. Los Blancos were one of many sides linked to the Argentine after his brilliant spell at the 2022 World Cup.
Nevertheless, it was Chelsea who acquired his signature. The Blues have seen Enzo go from strength to strength. However, he has not had the best time of things this season, with question marks surrounding his chemistry with other players in the Chelsea side.
Chelsea has been known to apply a ruthless method within the transfer windows of late. They appear to have signed every name under the sun and at the same time, tied them down to long-term contracts.
As it stands, Enzo Fernandez is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2032.
