The Boston Bruins have finally changed their top line, and it involves a move with captain Brad Marchand.
Since Joe Sacco took over as head coach after the Bruins fired Jim Montgomery on Nov. 19, the Bruins have looked like a different team despite not making many roster changes.
Friday at practice, Joe Sacco confirmed a line change that Bruins fans have been calling for, and it involves Morgan Geekie finally coming off of that top line.
During the Bruins’ previous game against the Chicago Blackhawks, Joe Sacco ended up throwing Brad Marchand on the top line with Elias Lindholm and David Pastrnak, and demoted Geekie down to Marchand’s previous line with Justin Brazeau and Pavel Zacha.
Both of these lines made immediate impacts for the Bruins as both Marchand and Geekie would go on to score two goals, leading them to a 4-2 victory over the Blackhawks.
Friday at practice, Sacco confirmed that the Bruins are sticking with these lines that seemed to mesh well together as Marchand was on the top line with Lindholm and Pastrnak, and Geekie was on a line with Zacha and Brazeau.
The Bruins have been rolling under Joe Sacco, and aim to continue to build off of it as they continue to try and hold their current playoff spot.
