The Chargers beat the Broncos 23-16 in their first matchup of the season back in October. At that time, the Chargers moved to 3-2 and went on to win four of their next five. The Broncos, despite the loss, managed to turn things around fast and are currently on a four-game win streak.
At 9-5, Denver is the AFC’s No. 6 seed while the Chargers are in the final playoff spot at 8-6. This matchup will go a long ways in deciding who ends the year with the higher seeding and which one gets the easier matchup come wildcard weekend.
Los Angeles needed to flush a demoralizing 40-17 loss to the Bucs this past Sunday fast in order to get their minds right for this pivotal matchup. The Broncos, on the other hand, were able to ride the high that came with a 31-13 victory over the Colts all the way into tonight’s primetime matchup.
Buckle up. It’s always a crazy time when AFC West teams collide.
