There must have been a “new year, new me” belief in Vancouver Canucks forward Arshdeep Bains heading into 2025, as he has reportedly switched agents.

The 23-year-old forward was previously with Harkie Singh of Live Sports & Entertainment but is now switching to Daren Hermiston of Wasserman Hockey Agency.
The move makes sense for Bains, as this is the final year of his three-year, entry-level deal he signed with the Canucks in March of 2022. He will be looking for a new contract extension come this offseason, and having more established representation should help him get the biggest contract possible.
Before Bains’ switch, he was the only player Singh was representing. Live Sports & Entertainment only had Bains as a client.
However, Hermiston represents two other NHL players: Pittsburgh Penguins defenceman Harrison Brunicke and Edmonton Oilers Connor Ungar. However, Wasserman Hockey Agency is a much more reputable agency as they have eight different agents who represent 120 different clients.
Some of the most notable clients the Wasserman Hockey Agency represents are Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews, Jordan Kyrou, Alex DeBrincat, Nick Suzuki, Roope Hintz, Zach Werenski, and Roman Josi. This won’t be the first Canuck the Wasserman Hockey Agency represents, as they also have Conor Garland as a client.
Bains has split the 2024 portion of the 2024-2025 season between the Vancouver and Abbotsford Canucks. During his 11 games in the NHL, he struggled to find the offensive part of his game. However, he did tally his first Nationa Hockey League goal off a pass off the pad from Daniel Sprong in a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The opposite can be said about the Surrey native at the AHL level, as he is thriving playing alongside the organization’s top prospect, Jonathan Lekkerimäki, averaging nearly a point per game with two goals and nine assists for 11 points in 12 games.
Bains will have the remainder of the season to earn another call-up and prove his worth to the Canucks organization to earn an NHL contract for next season with the help of his new agent, Daren Hermiston.
