After a 3-14 finish to the 2024 NFL season, the Tennessee Titans will be selecting with the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
The Titans certainly have a lot of holes to fill going into the offseason, with one of the main being the quarterback. Will Levis has proven he isn’t the man for the job during his two seasons with the team. The offensive line and skill positions could use an upgrade as well.
In Tennessee’s season-ending press conference, coach Brian Callahan mentioned that the team may have to address the quarterback position with the top pick, with Levis being the only one on the roster.
“Well, we got one quarterback under contract [Levis],” Callahan said. “The other two are free agents, and we’re in position to potentially draft a quarterback.”
However, on Wednesday, Titans president of football operations Chad Brinker dropped a new hint on who the organization could select. He also indicated that new general manager Mike Borgonzi will be the one making the final call.
“We won’t pass on a generational talent with the first pick in the NFL draft,” Brinker said. “We won’t do that.”
This “generational talent” hint could mean a number of different prospects. Colorado Buffaloes‘ Shedeur Sanders and Miami Hurricanes’ Cam Ward are the top two quarterbacks in the draft. Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter is considered the top prospect in the class by ESPN and is receiving comparisons to Micah Parsons.
But it seems the most likely prospect Brinker was hinting at is Colorado hybrid star Travis Hunter. The Heisman winner was a stud on both sides of the ball, playing wide receiver on offense and cornerback on defense. Although some expect him to play only one position in the NFL, Hunter has noted that he plans on playing both.
Whatever the Titans do, they better hope to get it right and hope for a better year in 2025.
