Bill Self became the butt of the joke Tuesday after No. 24 Kansas got completely outplayed by BYU at Marriott Center in Provo, Utah.
Self’s Jayhawks never led throughout the 91-57 beatdown they received from the Cougars. A Mawot Mag three-pointer gave BYU a double-digit advantage late in the first half. The lead ballooned to 20 at halftime and neared 40 toward the end of the game.
Many fans on X joked that Self’s firing is imminent after allowing his squad to get embarrassed by a BYU that entered Tuesday’s contest with an identical 17-8 record.

The Jayhawks have struggled of late in conference play, losing five of its last eight games against Big 12 opponents.
Utah has not been a friendly place for Self over the past full year. Last March, Gonzaga blew Kansas out of the NCAA Tournament 89-68 at the Utah Jazz’s Delta Center in Salt Lake City. After that game, Self infamously admitted that he had already been “thinking about next season” at that point.
