Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick sent out a brutal warning to NBA teams about guarding Luka Doncic.
The Los Angeles Lakers seem unstoppable at the moment as they took care of business against their noisy neighbors, the LA Clippers.
Despite playing with key players such as Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, and Jordan Goodwin, the Lakers walked away with a 108-102 victory as they have extended their winning streak to six games.
Luka Doncic was by far the best player on the floor for the Lakers as the 5x NBA All-Star is finally finding his form in the iconic Purple and Gold jerseys.
JJ Redick on what NBA teams shouldn’t do while defending Luka Doncic
Doncic finished the night with 29 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists in 37 minutes of playing time. The Clippers had no answer for Doncic, who killed them from beyond the arc.
During the postgame conference, head coach JJ Redick issued a brutal warning to the rest of the league about how they shouldn’t guard the 26-year-old superstar.
“The nature of playing with Luka Doncic is if you play drop coverage against him, you’re going to die, so teams are going to rattle or they’re going to blitz,” Redick said.
He added: “We have to be better, and we’re going to figure that out. It helps when you can play all shooting lineups, I am not concerned about that.”
The rookie head coach also admitted that the Lakers were aware of this when they traded for Doncic. Moreover, as he mentioned, Redick isn’t concerned about this specific strategy against his superstar.

Luka Doncic’s is geling with his Lakers teammates
Doncic’s first few games with the 17-time were far from ideal, as expected, from a player getting traded in the middle of the season.
However, as LeBron James pointed out multiple times, Doncic is finally learning the Xs and Os of the Lakers’ playbook.
That has been reflected in Doncic’s recent performances for the team. Luka has scored 20+ points in four out of his last five games for the team. In addition, he shot from than 50% for the first time during the team’s six-point win over the Clippers.
It’s crazy to think that Doncic is yet to show his 100% to Lakers fans. With the team now sitting in second spot in the Western Conference standings, it’s only a matter of time before the Dallas Mavericks realize how messed up it was to part ways with Doncic.
