The New York Knicks entered Monday night’s matchup against the Miami Heat desperately needing to pick up a victory, and they were able to do just that.
New York grabbed a dominant 116-95 victory over the Heat, extending Miami’s losing streak to eight games.
Of course, this was a massive victory for the Knicks who have been struggling recently without their star guard Jalen Brunson who has missed the last few weeks with an ankle injury.
Mikal Bridges led the way for New York, recording 28 points and three assists while shooting an efficient 10-14 from the field and 4-6 from three-point range.
Karl-Anthony Towns added 23 points and seven rebounds of his own but it was Josh Hart who stole the show on Monday as he recorded another triple-double.
Hart posted 12 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists in the Knicks’ dominant victory, recording his eighth triple-double of the season.
With that triple-double, Hart also made Knicks’ franchise history as he tied the great Walt Frazier for the most triple-doubles in a single season in franchise history with eight. Frazier accomplished the feat in 1968-69 and Hart will now look to break his record by the end of the season.

Monday’s triple-double also marked Hart’s 14th of his career as a Knick, which ranks fourth all-time in franchise history.
Of course, Hart has been a key player for the Knicks this season. The 30-year-old is averaging 14.2 points, 9.7 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 53.3% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range.
Hart also leads the NBA in minutes per game this season with 37.9 and he makes the most out of them every game as he puts in the dirty work in the Knicks’ starting rotation.
With him tying Frazier’s franchise record for triple-double on Monday, he will now look to break it on Wednesday when New York hits the road to take on the San Antonio Spurs.
