Swiatek Wins at Cincinnati Open

The world number one appeared poised for an easy win after taking the first set 6-0, serving three of her seven aces in that set alone. However, her French opponent fought back, matching Swiatek’s intensity in the second set and eventually winning it in a tie-break.

Despite this setback, Swiatek regained control in the final set, winning four consecutive games to secure her place in the next round. She will face Marta Kostyuk next, who defeated Lulu Sun in straight sets.
