Donley was arguably the best player in Tottenham’s Under-21s set-up last season, with the attacking midfielder spearheading the side’s march to the Premier League 2 title.
The 19-year-old is considered to be one of the most talented young players at Spurs at the minute and is widely viewed at Hotspur Way as a future first-team prospect.
Ange Postecoglou evidently rates that teenager highly, with the youngster being named on the bench on a number of occasions in the Premier League last season
Donely will not get a chance to show what he can do in League One, having signed for Orient on a season-long loan.
The midfielder will try to fire the O’s to a playoff spot and also catch the eyes of his full-time employers as he embarks on his new EFL adventure just a few miles from Tottenham.
Tottenham will be keeping a close eye on Donley’s displays and should he impress in the first half of the season, the club may even recall the youngster and send him to a Championship club in January, just like they did with Alfie Devine last season.
