Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has said that Nico William’s high wages might prevent Tottenham Hotspur from pushing ahead with a move for the Athletic Club Bilbao star.

Over the course of the summer, several outlets have suggested that Tottenham are battling a whole host of Premier League sides for the services of Williams.

This includes a recent update by CaughtOffside, who claimed that the winger’s suitors are growing by the day, with Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain all being admirers of the player.

The report alleged that those sides have now been joined in the race for the 21-year-old by both Arsenal and Chelsea, with the Gunners allegedly even willing to meet the player’s €58m (£49m) release clause
