Roger Federer reveals his favourite karaoke song and talks about his kids playing tennis

Roger Federer appears to be enjoying life in his tennis retirement and music has been playing a key role in his life now that he has time on his hands.

Federer has attended Coldplay and Taylor Swift concerts as he has got used to life away from the court, yet his connections with tennis continue to linger.

His long-running deal with clothing brand Uniqlo is ongoing, while his investment in shoe company On has been his most lucrative business success away from tennis.

The 20-time Grand Slam-winning icon has also maintained close ties to Wilson, the company that provided him with rackets throughout his tennis career and it was during a promotional event for the sports brand that he made some interesting revelations.

In an interview with the Tennis Channel and show on YouTube, Federer was asked about what song he would pick if he were asked to perform a karaoke song and he offered up a real classic.

“I would probably go to Queen and Another One Bites The Dust,” he said.

“My son loves listening to Queen or the Bee Gees. More the classic stuff. That is what I have in my head most of the time.

“So I would go to Queen or maybe something from Whitney Houston.

Federer went on to reveal his children also play tennis and they are all using Wilson frames.

“The girls play with the Wilson clash and the boys play with mine, the RF97,” added Federer.

“Hopefully they will try and play with this new racket now.

“I was playing with my old RF97 for the last few months because I can’t be seen anywhere with the new racket until it is out.

“The dream would be that some kid one day picks up this racket and wins a Grand Slam with it.

Despite retiring in 2022, Federer and Wilson utilized these insights to develop the RF 01 racket that has been released, with the click new frame released earlier this month.

“Having spent my whole career playing with Wilson rackets, I’m excited about the new RF Collection that we’ve created together,” said Federer as he launched the racket.

“I’m honoured that Wilson is continuing my legacy by further innovating the game I love, and I hope the collection inspires the stars of today as much as I was inspired the first time that I picked up a Wilson racket.”

“Having the RF logo on the racket shows you that this is very serious for me,” added Federer.

“It’s a big honour for me to have an RF franchise at Wilson. I’ve been with them for so, so long, ever since I played my first tournament at eight years old it was a Wilson racket and I’ve never played another tournament with another, with another brand.

“So for me to carry on the journey together with Wilson, now with my own initials and my brand is incredible.
