Beto and Jesper Lindstrom played a full match last night as Everton beat Tranmere Rovers 3-1 in the EFL Trophy at Prenton Park. And the first-team duo certainly played their part.

Beto scored twice and then set up Martin Sherif to seal a dramatic 3-1 victory over their League Two neighbours, who led until the latter stages.

Neal Maupay speaks out

We reported yesterday as to why Everton have turned down Marseille’s transfer approach for Neal Maupay.

And now the Blues striker, who spent last season on loan at former club Brentford, has been speaking about his future on That Peter Crouch Podcast

When asked about his happiness at life at Everton, Maupay said: “Yeah, actually I’m enjoying myself.

“I think last year was a very good boost for me. I went back to a place where I knew everyone and obviously my confidence went back up again. I think that’s something I really needed, and now I’m back here I’m fit, ready to play, and in football you never know what tomorrow will be.

“One thing I know for sure is I’m ready to go, and I’m actually looking forward to this season.”
