Danielle Collins gets brutally honest on her personality after ripping Iga Swiatek

Danielle Collins seemingly has no regrets about brutally bashing Iga Swiatek at the Paris Olympics as the 30-year-old American says she is just trying to be true to herself and act and talk the way she feels like.

In case you missed it, Collins was competing extremely well against Swiatek on the clay courts of Roland Garros and even took their Olympic quarterfinal match into three sets. But then, Collins started to struggle with something – and after Swiatek went 4-1 in the decider – the world No. 11 retired from the match due to an abdominal injury.

However, that wasn’t all as Collins then approached Swiatek and it was clear that she had some words that left the Pole stunned. Afterward, the American tennis star said she called the Polish world No. 1 “insincere” and that she didn’t want someone “faking” to be sorry over an injury.

“There’s a lot that happens off-camera, and there are a lot of people with a ton of charisma who come out and act one way on camera and another way in the locker room. I just haven’t had the best experience, and I don’t really feel like anybody needs to be insincere. They can be the way they are. I can accept that, but I don’t need the fakeness,” Collins said in her post-match presser.

Naturally, the Collins and Swiatek drama drew lots of attention as the 23-year-old Pole is known as shy and introverted, and no one really ever before took such a dig at her – at least not publicly.
