Cowboys Stock Report: Who’s an option, who should be shorted after Preseason Week 3 loss
Dallas didn’t have a player whose stock shot clear through the roof like Los Angeles Chargers defensive back Tony Jefferson, who threw together 14 tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble, and a sack. The Cowboys did, however, have a group of players whose fates may have been changed by their play in the final preseason game.
The offense was able to get 90 snaps for coaches to study and the defense had to survive five interceptions and keep the game within striking distance. Quarterback Trey Lance played the entire game while running backs Deuce Vaughn, Malik Davis, and Royce Freeman all got playing time. The receivers battling for a sixth receiver slot all had chances to make plays, and every tight end not named Jake Ferguson was available. There were plenty of battles for roster spots happening, and that was just the offensive side of the ball. The final stock up, stock down article isn’t just a set up for the next practice, or scrimmage, it could be a road map to the 53-man roster.
