The Kentucky Wildcats are getting set to host several high-level basketball recruits in the coming weeks, but for now, 4-star center Eric Reibe won’t be among them.
According to Adam Zagoria and Jacob Polacheck, Reibe has canceled his official visit with UK, which was set to begin September 13th.
Polacheck adds that Reibe is not planning to reschedule the visit. If that’s the case, then UK is effectively out of the mix.
The 7-foot, 225-pound Reibe hails from Germany and plays for The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland. He first earned a scholarship offer from UK back in June and made his recent list of 11 schools.
For a time, the Wildcats were seen as one of the top contenders in Reibe’s recruitment, but that was before they landed 5-star center Malachi Moreno.
Because Moreno and Reibe are both true centers who will likely play most, if not all of their college minutes at the 5 spot, it was going to be an uphill battle to land both players in the same class.
The good news is that UK has Moreno committed and a good shot of getting Brandon Garrison back for what would be his junior campaign in the 2025-26 season. So while Reibe is unlikely to be part of UK’s 2025 class, the center position is in good shape entering the fall signing period.
