Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have both shown interest in Lecce’s promising young left-back Patrick Dorgu during the summer transfer window. The 19-year-old Danish defender has caught the attention of several top clubs with his impressive performances in Serie A.

Fabrizio Romano reports how Spurs had Dorgu on their shortlist as they looked to bolster their defensive options. The North London club has been actively seeking young talent to strengthen their squad under new manager Ange Postecoglou.

Chelsea, meanwhile, explored the possibility of signing Dorgu through their partner club Strasbourg in July. The Blues have been keen on acquiring young prospects as part of their long-term strategy under the ownership of Todd Boehly.

However, negotiations for both clubs hit a stumbling block due to Lecce’s high valuation of the player. The Italian side are reportedly demanding more than €30-35 million for the talented full-back, a figure that both Premier League clubs found excessive for a relatively unproven player.

Dorgu’s stock has continued to rise, with the youngster recently scoring his first goal for the Danish national team. This milestone achievement has further underlined his potential and could potentially increase interest from other clubs in the future.

Despite the initial talks not progressing, both Tottenham and Chelsea are likely to continue monitoring Dorgu’s development. The young defender’s ability to contribute both defensively and offensively makes him an attractive prospect for top clubs looking to invest in the future.

As the January transfer window approaches, it remains to be seen whether either club will renew their interest in Dorgu or if Lecce will adjust their valuation. For now, the Danish starlet continues to impress in Serie A, potentially setting the stage for a high-profile move in the near future.
