Arsenal welcomed Southampton at the Emirates Stadium as the match ended in a 3-1 victory for The Gunners. Arsenal players will start their international break on a three-pointer note.
However, things didn’t go as planned for The Gunners until the 58th-minute mark. The first half was all about former Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale who didn’t allow his former teammates to get past him.
Southampton drew first blood with a goal from Cameron Archer in the 55th minute. A surprising start for the home side as Arsenal had dominated much of the game.
Archer’s striker set up a domino effect as The Gunners ended the match with a two-goal difference. Bukayo Saka stole the spotlight as the winger scored once and assisted twice.
Kai Havertz started the domino effect with the equalizer. Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka followed with the latter having a direct or indirect contribution to all the Arsenal goals.
At the away end, Aaron Ramsdale returned to the Emirates Stadium as the enemy. However, the fans gave him a warm welcome even chanting his name at the end of stoppage time.
Aaron started the match on a shaky note with nervous distribution but was very reliable by the end of the game. The goals were another story as Ramsdale didn’t have much to do in the face of brilliance.

Mikel Arteta was the manager who replaced Ramsdale with David Raya at the Emirates Stadium. However, the duo didn’t display much friction during and after the latter’s transfer saga.
After the game ended the English goalkeeper met and spoke with his former teammates. He even talked to Mikel Arteta as the Spanish manager had a message to convey to his former goalkeeper. He told the media,
I wished him all the best. I wish him the best and I hope they do [stay in the Premier League], especially for their manager and Aaron as well because they are a very good side
