For the House of Windsor, no detail is too small when it comes to their royal engagements, and when they are officially representing the crown they are unlikely to leave much to chance.

Even the clothes donned by the Royal Family are meticulously thought through, and their outfits sometimes even seem to contain hidden messages. Royal fans pay a great deal of attention to what the Windsors are wearing – and looks selected by Princess Kate and Duchess Meghan have the power to give designers and high-street brands alike a serious boost. Whilst the royal youngsters do not join the adults at many events, when they do a lot of thought seems to have gone into even Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis’ outfits.

Trooping the Colour in 2023 was significant in many respects, as it marked the first King’s Birthday Parade since King Charles had taken the throne and since Kate and William had been given the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales. All three of the Wales children joined their parents and other senior royals for the major event – which is one of the monarchy’s biggest days annually.

George, Charlotte, and Louis all looked incredibly smart at the high-profile event, that came only weeks after the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla. Both Louis and Geroge donned bright red ties and navy jackets – with George wearing matching navy trousers and Louis opting for red shorts and long navy socks. Charlotte was dressed in a smart white dress which featured lining in a matching shade of red to her brothers’ ties and a bow at the collar.

Kate opted for a dazzling green ensemble, while William wore his red dress military uniform, and as reported in The Sun when the entire family was pictured together on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, where they watched the traditional RAF flypast, eagle-eyed royal fans spotted there was perhaps a message being sent through the coordinated outfits.

“I just adore the attention to detail, the Wales family are wearing green white, and red, colours of the Welsh Flag,” one fan reportedly wrote on social media. Kate’s outfit may have even included a double meaning because the green could also be seen as a nod to her new role as Colonel of the Irish Guards. Seemingly throwing their support and nodding to Wales is significant given the titles the couple had only been given nine months beforehand.
