Brentwood Academy’s George MacIntyre on Tennessee Vols win vs Alabama: ‘Ears still hurt’

Posted on October 22, 2024 by admin

The Tennessee Vols’ past two victories against Alabama at Neyland Stadium have one thing in common: Brentwood Academy quarterback George MacIntyre was on the sideline.

The Eagles senior’s “ears still hurt” after he witnessed the Vols’ victory from their sideline Saturday.

“It was great being back for the win,” MacIntyre said Monday. “Just seeing they can win in a lot of different ways shows the competitive nature of the team.”

MacIntyre left for Knoxville on Friday after Brentwood Academy’s practice.

He talked with The Tennessean about what the recruiting visit experience is like, other than game day, and how he takes it all in.

Chicken wings are at the top of his list.

“You’re spending a lot more time with analysts and recruiting-type people,” he said. “It’s a lot of free food and a lot of good tickets for the game.

“Just watching the game as a fan at Neyland, you enjoy it more than the players. The energy is crazy. Sometimes you can see (the stadium) shaking.”
