Having accomplished everything there is in tennis, it comes as no surprise that Novak Djokovic is a household name. However, his wife, Jelena, recently admitted she has seen their kids “childishly bragging” about the identity of their father.
The couple have been together for 20 years and have two children, Stefan, 10 and Tara, seven. Both kids have been spotted in their father’s player box during his matches, with Stefan being a keen tennis player himself.
The kids playfully brag about who their father is, says Jelena Djokovic
In an interview with La Nacion, Jelena stated the kids are not fully aware of Djokovic’s impact on tennis and the world in general. Nonetheless, they still occasionally brag about who their father is, albeit in a playful manner.
“They are very young, so they don’t understand a lot of important things that he represents for people,” said Jelena. “But they do understand that he is a hard worker and he is very respected. Because they see him when they travel and there are a lot of fans and they see the attention he gets. So they understand it.
“And I can hear them saying, ‘You know who my dad is.’ It’s kind of childish bragging, but the other meaning they are learning through the work of the foundation. Because this is what Novak wants as well, for his legacy to be to change the world for children. Because he once had a dream as a child and he achieved it.”
