Aaron Judge and Juan Soto combined for three home runs and drove in all eight runs as the New York Yankees (74-53) rolled past the Cleveland Guardians (73-53), 8-1, on Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium to snap a three-game skid and even the series at a game apiece.
Judge blasted his Major League-leading 46th and 47th home runs of the season. Soto drilled his career-high 36th home run and had a bases-clearing double.
Nestor Cortes fired seven shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out four. The left-hander has not allowed a run in his last two outings. Tim Mayza gave up the lone run in the eighth on a solo home run.
