Game notes
- And so it starts! The Boston Bruins begin their preseason against the New York Rangers this evening. They’ll have seven preseason games this year, including a neutral site match against the Los Angeles Kings. The B’s will see the Rangers, Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Flyers twice.
- We don’t have too much information yet on who will be playing tonight as the Bruins held a Black & Gold scrimmage in Providence yesterday afternoon. Expect to see a “who’s playing” post once the Bruins release tonight’s lineup.
- What we do know is we still won’t be seeing Jeremy Swayman…
- Brad Marchand is also still rehabbing after recovering from three offseason surgeries. Don Sweeney in this first week of camp said they are more focused on him returning to full health than training camp.
- Matt Poitras will continue to be one to watch during training camp and these preseason games. He had a great showing yesterday with Pavel Zacha and David Pastrnak. Jim Montgomery said they’ll be moving him around to wing as well to see where he will best fit into the lineup.
- But for those who didn’t make it out to Providence, this could be the first chance to see Nikita Zadorov, Tyler Johnson or maybe Elias Lindholm in action. Lindholm has had a few maintenance days and didn’t play in the scrimmage.
- See ya tonight!
