While bye weeks are usually meant for rest and recuperation, Patrick Mahomes had quite a busy one while the Kansas City Chiefs waited to see who their Divisional Round opponent would be.
Over the weekend, Mahomes’ wife Brittany gave birth to their third child. Golden Raye Mahomes was born on Sunday, joining older siblings Sterling and Patrick Lavon II, otherwise known as “Bronze”.

While the birth may have been the priority, the patriarch Mahomes admitted that he also had his eyes on some NFL playoff action at the hospital.
“It was cool that football was on TV while I was in the hospital, so I was able to watch a little bit,” Mahomes said. “Brittany was kind enough to let us watch football as she was getting ready to give birth to our second daughter.”
