Kentucky Wildcats sophomore Clara Strack has etched her name in program history, setting a new single-season record with 67 blocks after recording three stuffs in the 82-58 win over the Tennessee Volunteers.

In addition, Strack set the school record for single-game field-goal percentage (minimum of 10 attempts) after a perfect 11/11 night for a team-high 23 points to go with a game-high 15 rebounds. This is just the latest in what’s been an incredible season for the UK sophomore, who already is on pace to go down as an all-time program great.

Strack’s shot-blocking ability has been a defining factor in the Wildcats’ defensive success, and with South Carolina as the only regular-season game left, she has the opportunity to extend her record even further in the SEC and NCAA Tournaments, solidifying her place as one of the most impactful rim protectors in Kentucky women’s basketball history.

Strack’s journey to this historic mark is a testament to her development. As a freshman at Virginia Tech, she showed flashes of her defensive potential but played limited minutes. She finished her freshman season averaging just 13.8 minutes per game, posting 4.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per contest.

However, since transferring to Kentucky, she has blossomed into a dominant force on both ends of the floor. In her sophomore campaign, Strack has doubled her playing time, averaging 30.8 minutes per game while putting up 14.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per contest.

Her impact has been undeniable, and her presence in the paint has given Kentucky a defensive anchor. With the postseason looming, Strack’s continued dominance will be crucial as the Wildcats aim to make a deep tournament run.
