COACHING CHAOS? Eagles’ Staff Changes Raise Questions About Team’s Direction – Eagles announce 2025 coaching staff changes, which include two promotions and five new hires.

Posted on March 29, 2025 by admin

The Philadelphia Eagles have announced significant changes to their coaching staff for the 2025 season, including two key promotions and several new hires.

Promotions:

  • Kevin Patullo has been elevated from passing game coordinator and associate head coach to offensive coordinator, succeeding Kellen Moore, who departed to become the head coach of the New Orleans Saints.

New Hires:

  • Scot Loeffler, formerly the head coach at Bowling Green, joins the Eagles as the quarterbacks coach. Loeffler brings extensive experience, having previously coached quarterbacks in the NFL and at various collegiate programs.

  • Parks Frazier has been appointed as the new passing game coordinator. Frazier previously served as an offensive assistant with the Miami Dolphins and has a background in offensive strategy and quarterback development.

  • Montgomery VanGorder, who served as a quality control coach at the University of Georgia since 2019, joins the Eagles as an offensive assistant. VanGorder played a role in developing notable quarterbacks during his tenure at Georgia.

Defensive Staff Additions:

  • Christian Parker has been named passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach. Parker previously held the same position with the Denver Broncos, contributing to the development of All-Pro cornerback Patrick Surtain.

  • Clint Hurtt joins as the defensive line coach. Hurtt served as the Seattle Seahawks’ defensive coordinator and has a history of coaching defensive lines in the NFL.

  • Roy Anderson has been appointed as the cornerbacks coach. Anderson brings experience from his previous role as secondary coach with the Seattle Seahawks.

  • Joe Kasper returns to the Eagles as safeties coach after a stint with the Miami Dolphins in the same role.

  • Bobby King has been hired as the inside linebackers coach, bringing experience from his tenure with the Tennessee Titans.

These changes reflect the Eagles’ commitment to building upon their recent success and addressing the departures of key staff members. The promotion of Kevin Patullo and the addition of experienced coaches like Scot Loeffler and Parks Frazier aim to maintain continuity and further develop the team’s offensive prowess. On the defensive side, the new hires bring a wealth of experience and familiarity with defensive coordinator Vic Fangio’s system, which should facilitate a smooth transition and continued defensive strength.
