Cowboys Nation Get Ready to Rumble: Dallas Set to Sign Hollywood Brown as…

Posted on March 2, 2025 by admin

The Dallas Cowboys may be considering turning the page away from No. 2 wideout Brandin Cooks hits free agency, thus launching a search for a new sidekick for CeeDee Lamb.

And the Cowboys own website is naming names.

Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach has some decisions to make regarding his receivers room.

DeAndre Hopkins, Juju Smith-Schuster, and Marquise Brown are all free agents, leaving Patrick Mahomes with Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy as the receivers on the roster.

Which of them, if any, the Chiefs will bring back is unknown, but for NFL.com, Brown offers an interesting case for a potential return.

“Like Gabe Davis last year, Brown is an interesting case to consider,” NFL.com writes. “In his six NFL seasons, he’s had six games with 100-plus yards and four with multiple touchdowns, showing very little consistency since he was drafted in the first round by Baltimore. Brown turns 28 years old in June and projects to make less than $10 million per year on his next contract, so a team in need of an upside speedster could get quite a deal if Brown finds his stride.”

Meanwhile, DallasCowboys.com has a similar idea. They mention Keenan Allen, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Brown as what we might call “Tier 2” ideas.

They write: “This is an option that crosses the event horizon into more affordability, at a projected annual $8 million price tag … He’s battled injury on multiple occasions and none more than in 2024, when he missed all but one regular-season start due to a sternoclavicular injury before playing in the Super Bowl for the Chiefs.

“Still, the former first-round pick is young (27), extremely talented as a secondary option and can’t rightfully command the same pay as (Stefon) Diggs or Allen.”

Could the Cowboys chase Brown? There is a reason to do it.

Brown did show some signs of working with Mahomes, as in his two regular-season games back from his injury, he posted yard totals of 45 and 46 yards, plus he had a 35-yard game against the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game.

So there isn’t a health issue.

“Hollywood” in Dallas sort of feels right. … and the team’s official website mentioning the idea adds some validity to it.
