Daily Faceoff released their latest most fun team to watch rankings. In this rankings, Daily Faceoff ranked the Vancouver Canucks fifth across the National Hockey League heading into the 2024-25 season.
This is how Daily Faceoff described their rankings: “Here at Daily Faceoff, we decided to look at which teams will bring the most entertainment and excitement to the game. Whether it’s because of a talented player, a deep team, or maybe just an interesting personality or narrative, Colton Davies, Hunter Crowther, Mike Gould, Tyler Kuehl and myself [Scott Maxwell] joined forces to evaluate which teams will be the most watchable during the 2024-25 season.”
Here are the reasonings for the rating from the top rater [Mike Gould] and second bottom rater [Scott Maxwell].
Mike: I think the Canucks are the complete package from an entertainment POV. Right now, Quinn Hughes might be my favourite player to watch in the entire league. They have excellent forward depth, plenty of intriguing options on defence, and a goaltender who could easily win the Vezina Trophy someday.
Scott: I actually first really got into hockey during the 2011 run and was rooting for them before I knew that team was hated, so the Canucks always have a soft spot for me. The skill they have with Elias Pettersson, Quinn Hughes, J.T. Miller, Brock Boeser and company also makes for some great hockey.
Here is how Daily Faceoff ranked the top 10: Edmonton Oilers (1st), Colorado Avalanche (2nd), Toronto Maple Leafs (3rd), Dallas Stars (4th), Vancouver Canucks (5th), Florida Panthers (6th), New York Rangers (7th), New Jersey Devils (8th), Chicago Blackhawks (9th) and Boston Bruins (10th).
The Canucks have a star-studded cast with last season’s Norris Trophy winner [Quinn Hughes], two 100-point players [JT Miller and Elias Pettersson], a 40-goal scorer [Brock Boeser] and a Vezina runner-up [Thatcher Demko].
Watch this list among newcomers Jake DeBrusk and Daniel Sprong for the first time in action on October 9 when they take on the Calgary Flames in Rogers Arena.
