ESPN Has Alabama As ‘First Four Out’ In The College Football Playoff

Posted on October 30, 2024 by admin

Even though Alabama has already lost two games this season, it’s still fighting to get into the College Football Playoff.

Alabama is coming off a 34-0 shutout victory against Missouri on Saturday and it was a game it had to have after losing at Tennessee the Saturday before. Alabama has to win out to have any shot of making it into the 12-team playoff.

ESPN has updated its projections for the CFP and has the Crimson Tide a smidge outside the top 12. The network has the Tide in the “first four out” section with Notre Dame, Iowa State, and Kansas State.

It’s a fair ranking since the Tide have two losses and their schedule is about to get even tougher in a couple of weeks. They’re set to travel to Baton Rouge to play the LSU Tigers on November 9 in primetime.

That’s virtually an elimination game for both the Tide and the Tigers since they both have two losses thus far. After that, the Tide’s schedule eases up for their final three games.

They’ll need to win out and probably get a little bit of help from teams losing in front of them.

It’s not an easy task but there’s always a chance that the Tide can squeak in.

Kickoff for next Saturday’s Tide-Tigers game will be at 7:30 p.m. ET.
