Five transfers Tottenham can complete this summer with Pedro Neto in and dream £25m deal agreed

Latest Tottenham transfer news with Ange Postecoglou facing some big decisions on five potential new summer signings

Pedro Neto

Tottenham look set for a busy eight weeks in the summer transfer window ahead of the 2024/25 season. Ange Postecoglou has already made two new signings, with the return of Timo Werner on a season long loan and the addition of Archie Gray from Leeds United in a £40million deal.

With Spurs back in Europe, Postecoglou is understandably keen to add depth to his squad with technical director Johan Lange working tirelessly in the market. Compared to other Premier League club’s, the Lilywhites are in an excellent financial position and are therefore likely to make further marquee signings.

Because of that, numerous players have been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey is one summer target with Tottenham keen to add some homegrown stars to their squad, which is one of the reasons interest in Chelsea duo Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah has emerged.

Tottenham are also looking at talent from elsewhere with several players being eyed who currently play their football in France. With all of that being said, football.london has taken a look at five transfers Tottenham could complete before the August 30 transfer deadline.

Desire Doue

Tottenham have a strong interest in Rennes’ versatile midfielder Desire Doue, football.london understands. The 19-year-old is fresh off his breakthrough season in senior football having managed four goals and six assists from 43 appearances.

Newcastle, Arsenal and Manchester United have all been linked to the exciting teenager, though it appears Spurs are in the driving seat to sign him. With so much interest in Doue, Rennes are understandably keen to keep hold of their academy graduate and have thus reportedly set his asking price at €60million (£50.8m).

Conor Gallagher

Tottenham are long-term admirers of Chelsea’s Gallagher and could acquire his services this summer. Though the England international does not appear keen to leave the Blues, with his contract expiring in 2025, the club want to sell him over the coming weeks.

Postecoglou is a big fan of the midfielder, with it also clear Spurs need to recruit in the engine room and Gallagher is seen as the perfect addition for a number of reasons. Firstly, having come through Chelsea’s academy, Gallagher can be classed as a homegrown player which will significantly help Spurs when it comes to submitting their respective Premier League and Europa League squads.

With Spurs also likely aware of the predicament Chelsea find themselves in, that can potentially be used as a bargaining chip. Reports have also suggested Gallagher wouldn’t be against running down his contract which could see him leave on a free transfer in 12 months.

Jonathan David

While Richarlison enjoyed some great form in spells last season, it is no secret that Tottenham are interested in signing another striker. Lille’s Jonathan David, also of interest to Chelsea, has been strongly linked with a Premier League move in recent years with those links emerging again this summer.

The Canada international scored 26 goals last season which helped Lille finish fourth in Ligue 1. Amid interest from England, David is expected to depart Lille over the coming weeks with for as little as £20million.

The 24-year-old is currently at Copa America in the United States of America with Canada and is set to play in the semi-finals against Argentina after his nation beat Venezuela on penalties in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Trevoh Chalobah

Alongside Gallagher, Chelsea are also looking to sell Chalobah and Tottenham could be the ones to benefit. In order to raise more funds from selling homegrown players, the defender is expected to depart his boyhood club with Chelsea setting his asking price at just £25million.

Considering his Premier League experience, it would be an excellent deal if Spurs can get it done at that price with the 25-year-old starring in Chelsea’s final games of the 2023/24 campaign where they won eight games.

Pedro Neto

Wolves star Pedro Neto seems destined for a transfer away from Molineux with Tottenham one possible option. The 24-year-old has also been strongly linked to Arsenal, though they appear to be looking elsewhere given his recent injury record.

As such, Spurs could have a free run at signing the exciting winger with Wolves’ financial worries well-documented. However, fresh off selling Max Kilman to West Ham for £40million, Gary O’Neil’s side have been given a healthy cash injection which could alter their Neto transfer stance.
