The Kentucky Wildcats are well-represented at the 2024 Summer Olympics, with nearly two dozen athletes and coaches participating. On Monday, one of them, women’s basketball star Rhyne Howard, won a bronze medal.

Howard is a member of Team USA’s women’s 3×3 basketball team, and they defeated Canada in the Bronze medal game by a score of 16 – 13. Howard scored four of the 16 points and added a rebound as well.

Howard was a two-time SEC Player of the Year during her time at Kentucky. She was then selected with the first overall pick in the 2022 WNBA draft. As a professional with the Atlanta Dream, he is a two-time All-Star and has averaged 16.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.

Team USA went 4 – 3 over the course of the Olympics, with a loss to Spain keeping them out of the gold medal game. It’s still a great result for Howard and company, and we congratulate her on the win.
