Jon Rahm’s wait for his first LIV Golf win is over after producing a classy final round at JCB Golf & Country Club in Staffordshire on Sunday.
Rahm started the day at nine-under-par, three shots back from leader Andy Ogletree, who also had Cam Smith and Tyrrell Hatton in hot pursuit. But the Spaniard mustered a final round of 67 to finish 13-under-par, defeating Hatton by a single shot.
The 29-year-old was LIV’s flagship acquisition of the off-season in December, quitting the PGA Tour and joining the breakaway circuit for a reported £450million deal. But he had endured a frustrating time through the opening 10 events of the season.
