KAI HAVERTZ AIMS BRUTAL CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DIG AT CHELSEA AFTER PSG PERFORMANCE

Kai Havertz has set his sights on winning the Champions League with Arsenal, claiming it would surpass the success he enjoyed earlier in his career with Chelsea. The German international famously scored the winning goal in the 2021 final when Chelsea upset Manchester City under manager Thomas Tuchel, but he believes a victory with the Gunners would carry greater significance.

Reflecting on his time at Chelsea, Havertz admitted that despite his historic goal, his overall tenure at Stamford Bridge was inconsistent. Now, at Arsenal, he seems to have found his stride, becoming a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s squad and solidifying his place as the club’s first-choice centre forward.

Havertz has already made an impact this season, scoring in all four of Arsenal’s home games. As Arsenal prepares to face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, he’ll be looking to extend his scoring streak and help the Gunners build on their respectable point earned against Atalanta in their group-stage opener.

In a recent interview, Havertz spoke about his past success in Europe and his desire to replicate it with Arsenal. “It was a great moment in my career and something I’ll always remember,” he said of his winning goal for Chelsea. “But it would mean so much more to win the Champions League with Arsenal.”

Havertz acknowledged the challenges ahead, particularly reflecting on Arsenal’s difficulties in last season’s European campaign. “We know how tough it is to go far in this competition. Last year’s game in Germany wasn’t our best, but we’ve grown and matured as a team. We’re one year older now, and I hope we can have a great run this year. It’s a long journey, but we’re ready for it.”

While Kai Havertz brings valuable experience to Arsenal’s European campaign, he downplayed his role as a mentor to younger teammates, saying: “If players ask me about it, I share what I know. But that was three or four years ago—I feel like I have to prove myself all over again in this dressing room.”

The 24-year-old forward also reflected on his transition to Arsenal after his move last year. “The journey has been good, and I’m very happy to be here. My development has been positive, although it took me two or three months to really adjust to the system, my teammates, and the coach. Moving to a new club is always a big step, and I think it’s normal for some players to need time to adapt.”

As Havertz continues to prove his worth at Arsenal, he hopes that his contributions will help push the team towards European success. “It’s all about the journey, and I feel ready to play. I’m in a good place now, and I’m excited for what’s ahead,” he added.

With Arsenal looking to make a deep run in the Champions League, Havertz’s experience and recent form will be crucial as the Gunners aim to solidify their place among Europe’s elite.
