All the latest Arsenal injury news and updates, including updates on Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber

Declan Rice

Mikel Arteta was dealt numerous injury scares during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Wolves. The Gunners cruised past Gary O’Neil’s side at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon, thanks to goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka either side of half-time.

While Arsenal kickstarted the new Premier League season with a win, a couple of players appeared to pick up knocks. So, with that being said, football.london have rounded up the latest Arsenal injury news.

Declan Rice

In the final minutes of Arsenal’s win over Wolves, Rice appeared to suffer an injury. The 25-year-old midfielder was spotted limping and holding his right-calf before he was replaced by Gabriel Jesus. football.london understands that Rice is fine and should be okay for the Gunners’ next game.

What Arteta has said: “Yeah he was cramping. He hasn’t had the longest pre-season ever. But he was really trying and he put an unbelievable performance again. At the end he was struggling a bit.”

Expected return date: Aston Villa (A) – Saturday, August 24.

Bukayo Saka

Saka was spotted limping on numerous occasions during the Wolves clash. Shortly after doubling Arsenal’s lead, the 22-year-old winger was replaced by Leandro Trossard – which raised a few eyebrows among the home support, who have become so accustomed to seeing Saka complete full matches.

What Arteta has said: “Jurrien will be in the squad tomorrow. Obviously he had a really tough period but he used it in a great way I think because he’s managed to get a lot of things done and improved in many areas except playing. He found it really helpful I think and now he’s ready and he has a chance.”

Expected return date: Aston Villa (A) – Saturday, August 24.

Fabio Vieira
