Maple Leafs’ Mitch Marner Celebrates First Wedding Anniversary in Newest Instagram Story

It’s officially been a year since Toronto Maple Leafs star winger Mitch Marner tied the knot with now-wife Stephanie.

In an Instagram story posted by Stephanie Monday, she shared a series of photos from their wedding day at Peller Estates in Niagara-on-the-Lake, captioned, “Happy 1st anniversary, my love.” The couple, who have been together since 2015 after meeting at a high school basketball game, both share roots in Markham, Ontario.

Marner reposted the story shortly afterward, commemorating the special day.

The wedding was a star-studded affair, with many present and former Leafs teammates attending, including Jake Muzzin, Kyle Clifford, Matt Martin, Jake Gardiner, Justin Holl, and Tyler Bozak celebrating the occasion. Auston Matthews and Morgan Rielly were also among the notable guests, along with other former teammates like Nazem Kadri, Connor Brown, Connor Carrick, and James Van Riemsdyk. The couple’s beloved chocolate lab, Zeus, added a special touch by wearing a tuxedo.

Marner is entering the final year of a six-year, $65.41 million contract with the Leafs and has been the topic of discussion this offseason. Rumors and speculation have overhauled the conversation around his future with the team, sparking debates among Leafs nation regarding the next steps for the 27-year-old.

However, with many hurdles to climb over, including his no-movement clause for the 2024-25 season, all signs point to the forward staying put, keeping the ‘Core Four’ intact for another year.

Despite the noise, Marner was spotted training no less than five days ago as he prepares for a significant 2024-25 campaign in Toronto. Marner had 26 goals and 59 assists in 69 regular season games this past season before adding a goal and two assists in seven games against the Boston Bruins in the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
