Mets Owner Steve Cohen Posts Four-Word Message After Juan Soto's Home Run on Friday

New York Mets outfielder Juan Soto signed a historic 15-year, $765 million contract this offseason. Spending one season with the New York Yankees, Soto helped lead them to an American League pennant last season before falling to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.

Joining a Mets lineup that already boasts Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso and other prominent bats, Soto has wasted no time showing why he earned the largest deal in MLB history this offseason. Amid an incredible 2025 Spring Training, the 26-year outfielder hit his fourth home run in a Mets uniform in Friday’s contest against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Now hitting .409 on the spring with four home runs in just 22 at-bats, Soto is picking up right where he left off last season. With his majestic blast on Friday, the four-time All-Star also drew a response from Mets owner Steve Cohen.

“That was quick , boom!” Cohen exclaimed in a post on X.

Soto finished third in American League MVP voting last season, trailing only his former teammate Aaron Judge (who won the award unanimously) and Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. who finished second.

For his career, Soto owns a 160 OPS+ that ranks third among active hitters. Only Judge and Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout have a better career mark.

Making his presence felt right away on his new team, Soto has Mets fans excited for what is to come. This excitement includes Cohen, who has already gotten a glimpse at what his $765 million investment can bring to Queens.
