Novak Djokovic looks set to become the latest big name to follow the lucrative exhibition route with a potential signal that the end of his career is nigh.
Djokovic is set to join the list of ATP stars to head to Mexico for an exhibition as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz have all played in lucrative post-season exhibitions in recent years.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion could play at the legendary Monumental Plaza de Toros Mexico after the end of the 2024 season. His opponent is yet to be confirmed but he could for sure face Juan Martin del Potro in Argentina.
It is also a break from the norm for the legendary 24-time Grand Slam champion who usually doesn’t play any tournaments after the ATP Finals until the Australian Open. But Esto.com says that the lifelong dream of winning an Olympic gold medal has helped him relax on his preparation.

Perhaps the biggest signal yet that he may decide to head towards the end of his career quicker than expected. It is the first time since 2017 that he hasn’t won a Grand Slam. He lost in the semi-final of the Australian Open, withdrew from the French Open and finished runner-up to Alcaraz in Wimbledon. US Open was perhaps the worst though as he lost in the third round to Alexei Popyrin.
He will play Davis Cup this week, the Saudi Six King Slam in October as well as Shanghai Masters, Paris Masters and if he qualifies, he will play the ATP Finals.
