Novak Djokovic caught drinking in public following Olympic victory, breaking self-imposed rule

Tennis superstar Novak Djokovic completed tennis last week when he finally won the elusive Olympic gold medal at the Paris Olympic Games, and the Serbian celebrated that accomplishment by throwing his own rulebook out of the window.
The former World No.1 defeated Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz in a thrilling final on the Roland Garros courts, finally bringing his Olympic gold medal quest to an end. Djokovic was overcome with emotion immediately after the match, dropping to his knees in tears before going to embrace his coaching box and family in the stands.

Djokovic engages in a little bit of revelry after victory in Paris

The 37-year old has not been shy regarding his stance on maintaining an alcohol-free lifestyle, claiming it played a role in him playing at such a high standard. It is very rate to see the Serbian drinking in public. However, Djokovic appears to have made an exception for this case as he was captured drinking what appears to be champagne as he celebrated his latest milestone on a boat in Croatia before leaping into the water below.
“I haven’t been drinking for years,” he told VICE in 2019. “I sometimes did and as an athlete who rarely drinks, which is well known, one drink will throw me into the machine and I don’t know where I am.”
