The Oklahoma Sooners are off to a rough start in their 2025 offseason, even though the 2024 season really isn’t done yet. But, there is good to look forward to. There are some positives, depending on how you look at it. The schedule was just released, and now we can look forward to more Sooners football with some dates properly attached.
Last year the Sooners had one of the five toughest schedules in the country. And, that somewhat showed in their record. They finished 6-6 on the year and barely made a bowl game, and in fact, needed some of that Sooner magic to get a huge win over the Alabama Crimson Tide.
This schedule is similar, with some tough games. Here is the full schedule that the Sooners released at 6 PM CT:
Oklahoma 2025 football schedule
Aug. 30 – Week 1: Illinois State at Oklahoma
Sept. 6 – Week 2: Michigan at Oklahoma
Sept. 13 – Week 3: Oklahoma at Temple
Sept. 20 – Week 4: Auburn at Oklahoma
Sept. 27 – Week 5: BYE WEEK
Oct. 4 – Week 6: Kent State at Oklahoma
Oct. 11 – Week 7: Oklahoma at Texas (Dallas)
Oct. 18 – Week 8: Oklahoma at South Carolina
Oct. 25 – Week 9: Ole Miss at Oklahoma
Nov. 1 – Week 10: Oklahoma at Tennessee
Nov. 8 – Week 11: BYE WEEK
Nov. 15 – Week 12: Oklahoma at Alabama
Nov. 22 – Week 13: Missouri at Oklahoma
Nov. 29 – Week 14: LSU at Oklahoma
This schedule is pretty unique. You have the Sooners traveling to Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to play the Temple Owls, Oklahoma opening up their SEC schedule at home again but this time against a team that could be worse than what Tennessee was this year.
This schedule looks like it could be kind of fun. But, with the SEC, you truly never know. The more we see this team start to shape up for the 2025 season, the more we will know.
