One of the best running backs in the class of 2026 has listed the Oklahoma Sooners in his top five

Posted on January 25, 2025 by admin

The Oklahoma Sooners only have three players committed to their 2026 class, and none to their 2027 class. But, that is completely normal. The Sooners just wrapped up their 2025r class, and they are now out on the road visiting high school players and delivering offers.

One player, who they won’t have to travel far for, would make their class very impressive, as he’s one of the best running backs in the 2026 class.

Sooners land on top-five list for 2026

Kaydin Jones, a 2026 class running back, has emerged as a big-time recruit for the college football scene, especially in Oklahoma. From Jenks High School in Jenks, Oklahoma, the 5’11”, 170-pound athlete is known for his elite speed and agility at the high school level, where he plays some pretty good talent.

During his junior year, Jones showcased his talent by rushing for 1,476 yards with 17 touchdowns on 229 carries, alongside 24 receptions for 256 yards and four touchdowns. His career at Jenks has been stellar, with a total of 3,998 rushing yards and 43 touchdowns over three seasons. Jones has had offers from numerous big-time schools across the country, as everyone has been put on to how he is as a running back recruit and a football player.

But the Sooners, they really want him, and they’re one of his top five schools, so they have a pretty good shot at doing so.

His link to Oklahoma is particularly strong due to his father, Kejuan Jones, who was a running back for the Sooners, providing Oklahoma with a legacy boost in his recruitment. Having a great running backs coach like DeMarco Murray, who played in the NFL for teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and Tennessee Titans, should make players like Jones want to come to Oklahoma.

But, these are kids, so we really have no idea what they are thinking. Only time will tell, but we do know that his top five are Oklahoma, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Louisville, and Kansas.
