Recap: Bruins not quite good enough in 2-1 loss to Rangers

After Tuesday’s loss to the Washington Capitals, there were plenty of reasonable takes suggesting that the B’s effort had actually been pretty good in DC, the result just wasn’t there.

Unfortunately, you could say the same about tonight’s game in Manhattan: the Bruins weren’t terrible, controlled play for decent stretches, threw 33 shots on net…and still lost.

The Bruins got goals from Mika Zibanejad and Brett Berard just over three minutes apart in the first period, then held on the rest of the way to earn a 2-1 win.

Jonathan Quick was the standout player for the Rangers, making 32 saves — including a couple of the highlight-reel variety.
