The Boston Red Sox are checking in on World Series superstar, Juan Soto as he enters free agency, per Jon Heyman. The Sox are definitely not in the top landing spots, as those are saved for the New York Yankees and Mets.
This season, Soto slashed a line of .288/.419/.569/.989/ with 41 homers and 31 doubles. He was a leader of the offense in the World Series, but his team couldn’t keep up.
upgrade.
Soto is a lefty however, which the Sox have plenty of hitter-wise. Although, it doesn’t really matter to Soto, who is a career .268 hitter against lefties, which is much better than the average lefty on lefty.
If the Sox could land Soto, it would be a big win, and be a gut punch to a divisional rival. If they could grab him and starting pitchers like Jack Flaherty and Yusei Kikuchi, and trade for a reliever, they could be a dominant force in the AL East.
