The New Orleans Saints continue to search passively, since the season is not over, for their net head coach. Dennis Allen was fired in early November, and Mickey Loomis and his front office now has the task of replacing him for the time being going forward.
One candidate that the Saints will potentially pursue has won Coach of the Year in the NFL before.
Mike Vrabel
The Saints have interest in Vrabel, according to NFL insiders Adam Schefter and Tom Pelissero.
“One of the candidates expected to be square on their radar will be [Lions DC] Aaron Glenn… I also would expect the organization would have some level of interest in [former Titans HC] Mike Vrabel.”
The latest update on the former Titans head coach will allow New Orleans (and other orgs) to contact him immediately.
For any team with a head coaching vacancy, this means Vrabel is eligible to interview for those jobs immediately. The Jets, Saints and Bears – if interested – could get a head start on other teams that will soon have an opening.

With Vrabel officially away from any other team, other organizations can interview him and begin their process if they have interest in hiring him. Of course, he won’t be hired until the regular season concludes most likely, though.
Vrabel is arguably the most experienced option that seems realistic for New Orleans when it comes to NFL HC experience. During his time in Tennessee, many thought he was one of the better coaches in the conference.
Ultimately, though, the relationship in Tennessee soured, and both sides moved on.
For Vrabel, it always seemed likely that he would get another opportunity as a head coach elsewhere. New Orleans could be that next landing spot.
